Willie Baker

Willie Baker, 81, born November 4, 1923 in Dallas, Texas passed away April 8, 2005.

He retired from F.W. Glitsch & Sons as a welder.

Preceded in death by wife of 57 years Nancy Baker. He is survived by sons, George Baker and wife Anne, Tommy Baker and wife Judy; daughter, Elizabeth Brewer; 5 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild and sister, Mildred Cullen.

He was a professional Musician since the age of 12. A member of 1st Baptist Church of Farmers Branch for over 45 years. He was a member of the U.S. Army Air Corps in WWII.

Willie was one of the early members of the Dallas Banjo Band, but has been inactive for several years. Besides playing Banjo, he was an excellent guitarist, playing with many of the local Bands in the Dallas area.
