J.D. Kahler, our oldest and dearest Banjo Plucker, celebrated his 90^th Birthday at our monthly Free Show at the Back Country Barbeque this March.

Though he is our oldest, he is among the most lively and talented players in our Band.

In his speech while accepting accolades from the Band and from the many fans who came to see him, he thanked everyone (including his fine family who came from acrosss the U.S. to help him to celebrate); and then proceeded to grace us with several vocals for which he is famous. His voice is as strong as ever. And the songs were well received with a standing ovation.

We are very fortunate to have J.D. in our Band, and we all hope to emulate his eternal youth and dedication to music.

As depicted in the secretly-taken photo on the left, J.D. has a second secret identity as a female impersonator.

In reality, J.D. donned the garb as a spoof at one of his Church's social functions. Understanably, he was voted the best of breed, and received several proposals of marriage from some of his church buddies !
